Reconstruction of Byzantine knife from Thebes, Greece, dated 12th century. Bone hilt. Sheath made of vegetable tanned leather, hand-sewn with linen thread. Knives of this type have been also found near Plovdiv (exactly 127 knives, unfortunately most of their handles are not preserved)1. |
